Climate Home News\u00a0was named best specialist and local news site\u00a0at\u00a0The Drum Online Media Awards\u00a0on Tuesday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also nominated were comparably massive sites like Pink News, BBC East of England, the Belfast Telegraph and the Trinity Mirror. But a heavyweight panel of judges rewarded\u00a0CHN’s keen global reportage and mission to spread it around the world.<\/p>\n

“Quality journalism is needed now more than ever online and the winners tonight are some of the best internationally,” said editor of the year\u00a0Steven McCaffery from The Detail, which was also nominated in our category.<\/p>\n

There are a lot of people to thank for Climate Home News’ success. Our deputy editor Megan (who is definitely one of them) has done that\u00a0here<\/a>.\u00a0I\u00a0second every one of the people she mentions.<\/p>\n

But I wanted to single out you, our readers, for a special mention. Climate change is an issue that affects and interests everyone. But there is a special, diverse community out there who care enough to follow it closely.<\/p>\n
